Livingstone’s Starline frequently holds live music performances, featuring jazz, blues, rock and indie bands. It's a popular destination for the younger 20’s to 30’s Fresno crowd, but you see older people there all the time. Starline tends to focus on popular music trends and emerging artists.
On any one night you may find a lone guitar performance, or a full band performance. There is open mic night every monday and thursday (I think they call monday "open jam session"). Thursday's is Salsa night hosted by the Starline Salsa Club featuring Salsa music and dancing, and when you come early you can take lesson. They are taught by salsa instructor Phoebe Romero - It costs $8, but that's not bad since that includes your cover charge. On Sunday's they typically have a DJ spinning house and (occasional hip-hop). Typically Fridays and Saturdays a band will be performing live so pretty much stuff is always going on.
I forgot to mention Starline is big and has tons of room for dancing and a full service bar. It looks cool inside too. They also serve appetizers from Livingstone's Restaurant next door. So if you like live music then you'll love Starline.
